for State Senate: NH's North Country Voice
Friends and neighbors,
The past few years have been challenging ones in the North Country. As our communities steer through this transition in the economy, I believe we need real representation in the New Hampshire Senate. I am running for the State Senate to give a strong voice to the North Country – particularly on issues that are so important to us here, like affordable health care, jobs, and support for small businesses and the environment.
As a Representive for Franconia and Bethlehem, I have worked hard for the last four years to stop plans to turn over our state parks to private developers and have sponsored legislation to allow residents of small towns to have a voice in the permitting process of private landfills. The environment is a key component of our quality of life, and our natural resources are also a critical part of our economy. I am committed to finding a balance between the two so that our economy and resources can flourish and be sustained.
My goal for the Senate is to continue this work -- to improve access to affordable health care here in the North Country, to work on economic and community development that leads to good paying jobs for the families of the North Country and develop thoughtful policy to manage our natural resources. I intend to provide an energetic and effective voice to represent the North Country and commit to continuing to build relationships with legislators from other rural areas of the state to ensure we have a strong voice advocating for thoughtful rural policy. The people of the North Country deserve someone who will work hard every day to make sure this is a place of opportunity.
Please, join my campaign today.
Sincerely,
Martha McLeod
